What FreshFin is

Research briefs on 200+ Norwegian and US companies

FreshFin publishes research briefs on 200+ companies listed on Oslo Børs and in the US. An AI drafts each brief, and we check every figure against the company's own filings before it goes out. A brief covers what the business sells, what it earns, what could go wrong and what we think it is worth. It makes no buy or sell calls.

Follow the companies you care about

Put the companies you follow on a watchlist and FreshFin tells you when something happens to one of them: a filing, an earnings report, a change in guidance. Each one comes with the context from our last brief and a short note on what it means for the business.

Earnings summaries, same day

When a company we cover reports, we publish an earnings summary the same trading day. It works from the release the company filed and sets the reported figures against what our previous brief expected. A summary takes about two minutes to read.

A day of earnings summaries, one per company that reported, each giving the quarter's key figures and a short note on what they mean for the business

Every filing, and who reports next

We collect every official disclosure from Oslo Børs and the SEC in one searchable feed: results, guidance changes, insider trades and buybacks. Next to it is a calendar of which companies report next, and when.

A searchable feed of official Oslo Børs disclosures, each entry labelled with the company and the kind of announcement it is, filterable by watchlist, ticker, type and exchange

Watchlists with the numbers on them

Each watchlist row shows a price sparkline, the analyst target range, a short company snapshot and how many filings you have not read yet. Keep as many lists as you like, split them into sections and drag rows into any order. Prices are end-of-day.

A watchlist grouped into named sections, each row carrying a price sparkline, the last price and move, a score, an analyst target range meter and how soon the company reports

Every refresh starts with what changed

We refresh a brief when the company reports, when guidance changes, or when a shift in the macro picture affects the case. Each new version starts with a list of what changed since the last one and how much it matters.

A what-changed panel listing the differences between a refreshed brief and its previous version, each tagged by what moved: earnings, score, fair value, thesis, risk

Macro scans

Our macro scans cover indices, rates, currencies, commodities and sector rotation, and end with the odds we put on a few scenarios. They explain what those moves mean for equities. Every scan uses the same panels, so you can compare this month with last month.

Learn as you read

The briefs are written for people reading their first annual report and for people who have read hundreds. Financial terms are explained where they appear, and the longer versions show how each number was worked out.

Three lengths of the same brief

The FreshFin Brief is the standard version: the thesis, the numbers, the risks and a fair value. The Summary is the short version. The Extended Report adds the full workings and every table.

Terminology explained on the spot

We underline 144 financial terms in the text of every brief. Click one and its definition opens next to the text, so you keep your place. A switch rewrites every definition in plainer language.

Old briefs stay published

Every earlier brief on a company stays online, with its date and the score it had at the time. Read them in order to see which of our arguments held up and which did not.

A list of previous reports on the same company, oldest to newest, each with the score it carried at the time

Education In development

A course on reading financial statements, valuing a company and how markets work, written in the same plain style as the glossary and with interactive figures. Four tracks are planned, and the first lessons are being written now.

How a brief is made

Drafted by AI, checked against company filings

  1. Every figure traced back

We check the numbers in every brief against the company's own reporting: investor material and regulatory filings. If we cannot find a source for a figure, it stays out. Sources are cited, so you can check any number yourself.

  2. One score from six areas

We score every company in six areas and combine them into one composite, on a scale from Excellent down to Dumpster Fire. The six sub-scores are shown next to it, so you can see which area pulled the score down.

  3. Our own fair value

We build our own bear, base and bull cases with several valuation methods and compare the results. Analyst price targets are shown separately and labelled as such, so you see our number and theirs side by side.

  4. No trade calls

A brief describes the business and what could go wrong with it. There is no buy, sell or hold rating, no entry price and no position size. What you do with the research is your decision.

  5. Where AI can go wrong

An AI drafts our research, and AI makes mistakes. That is why every figure is checked against a source, every brief is dated, and every refresh lists what changed.
